Slaight Foundation Emergency Fund Project

Strengthening Women’s Livelihoods Through Climate-Smart Agriculture

The Slaight Foundation Emergency Fund Project empowers women farmers to build resilient livelihoods through climate-smart agriculture, sustainable irrigation systems, financial inclusion, and improved access to productive resources. By strengthening food production and household incomes, the project is helping vulnerable communities adapt to climate change while creating lasting economic opportunities.

About the Project

Building Resilient Communities Through Sustainable Agriculture

Climate change continues to threaten the livelihoods of farming communities across Northern Ghana. Irregular rainfall, prolonged droughts, and declining agricultural productivity place enormous pressure on vulnerable households, particularly women who depend on farming for their livelihoods. The Slaight Foundation Emergency Fund Project was established to strengthen community resilience by improving year-round agricultural production, expanding access to irrigation, promoting sustainable farming practices, and increasing financial inclusion for women farmers.Implemented by RAINS, the project combines climate-smart agriculture, renewable energy, Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), and capacity building to create sustainable livelihood opportunities while improving household food security and resilience.

Our Goal

To improve food security, strengthen women's economic resilience, and promote sustainable livelihoods through climate-smart agriculture, irrigation development, and financial inclusion.
